Grandfather P.Ramaswamaiya
(P.R.Vishwanath)

He passed away in 1928 - see the other post where my father (his son) P.R.Rmaiya records his death. It seems he was about 52 when he died. This puts his birth around 1878 (Mahatma Gandhi's birth ~1969) . He worked as probably a clerk/accountant for a timber merchant in Palahalli near Mysore . He must have had good knowledge of English since one of the important letters (which was located later ) my father wrote to him in 1920 is entirely in English

His signature from an old telugu book - Apart from us (his descendents),this signature is an independent proof for the fact that he lived ! In this he exists apart from us! In a way it makes him real for us !

As far as I know, we do not have any of his pictures. We also do not know whether he was ever photographed !

Front page of the book also reproduced below- Adi Shankara's stotras - 18-1 ?(Prajotpatti samvatsara) Must be 1871 !
His signature with tint/no tint
